HOW does your garden grow? was the question on everyone's lips last week, when Leyland hosted a green fund-raising event.
Ten local people revealed the secrets behind their growing skills to the public to help raise cash for renovation work at St Andrew's Parish Church.
Visitors toured addresses in Balcarres Road, Crocus Field, Worden Close, Fox Lane, and many more to explore a variety of gardens.
Margaret and David Moore, of Crocus Field, were among the participants.
Their garden has been developed over the past 14 years from a builder's dumping ground into a flourishing mixture of plants, shrubs, conifers and flowers.
While Evelyn Swan's smaller garden in Balcarres Road is a beautiful example of a traditional Victorian backyard.
Money raised from the event will cover the cost of St Andrew's refurbishment, which was altered last year to incorporate a new gallery, welcome area, new lower tower rooms, kitchen and toilet facilities.
Other remedial work was carried out during the renovations.
