GOING out on the pull helped to raise £1,500 for blind welfare last Sunday.
Nine teams joined the Preston & North Lancashire Blind Welfare Society's tractor pull at Halton Army Camp.
Development worker Tony Kempton said: "Nine teams arrived at Halton to participate in the event, each pulling a tractor weighing some 3 tonnes over a distance of 50 metres on hard ground.
"While a great deal of muscle was needed to get the tractor moving, everyone had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, some of the proceeds will first be needed to replace a section of fencing which was vandalised outside Morecambe Blind Centre at the weekend."
The winning all male team were Protractor's Ironmasters Gym, Morecambe, with the best mixed team being Brophy's Bombers from Lancaster.
