DAISY Hill FC will be taking on the cream of Bolton Wanderers' youngsters as a mouth-watering start to the new season.
The local side will tackle Wanderers Under 19s Academy side on Tuesday, August 15, at the New Sirs home, kick off 7pm.
Ex-Wanderers player and Daisy Hill assistant manager Brian Smith has arranged the game through his old professional contacts.
He says: "Academy manager Chris Sulley and I were team-mates in our Bournemouth days and wanderers reserve team manaher Steve Carroll played together in the youth team at Burnden Park.
"Everyone at Daisy Hill is excited at the prospect of playing against the future stars of Bolton Wanderers. We have a talented young squad at Daisy Hill with an average age of around 21. I'm sure this game will be a good education for them.
"Wanderers' boss Sam Allardyce and I were team-mates through the youth team and on into the first team and everyone at Daisy Hill would like to thank him for giving us this opportunity. It's an ideal game for local Bolton fans to come down and take a close look at the club's young talent."
Daisy Hill have another prestigious friendly arranged for Tuesday, August 8 when UniBond Division One side Chorley are the visitors.
