ST HELENS Council's sports development team is looking for girl footballers to represent the town team at the Merseyside Youth Games.
Littlewoods Merseyside Youth games football tournament trials are being run at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre on Wednesday, June 14 and June 28 (starting at 7pm) and at Ruskin Leisure Centre on Wednesday, June 21 and July 5 (starting at 6pm).
The sessions are free and expert coaches Judith Hughes and Janet Mayer will be conducting the trials.
Sports Development Officer, Jake Collin, is hoping for a good response: "Football is the fastest growing sports for girls in England and the Council is hoping that the trials and training sessions for this years Merseyside Youth Games will not only offer girls in St Helens a chance to try the sport but also an opportunity to win a place in the town squad in an event now considered the finest youth sports festival in this country".
