I AM trying to trace a number of members of my family and in particular Brenda Greatbach, who is aged 65 and, I am told, lives in Blackpool.

I know that when she was young she lived in Montgomery Terrace Road, Sheffield, with her parents Richard and Mary and two brothers, Dennis and Ron. When Brenda was a baby their father died and she and her brothers were put into Fulwood Cottage Homes, Sheffield. During this time their mother Mary also died.

As teenagers, Dennis and Ron were looked after by their auntie, Mary Greaves, of Cambridge Road, Heeley, Sheffield. Auntie Mary was a well known spiritualist and had three sons and one daughter called Margaret.

At age 15, Dennis joined the Navy and later had a son, also named Dennis. He is still alive and living in Sheffield. His brother Ron married and had two daughters, Michael and Sheila. He later died while living in Liverpool but his daughters I hope are still alive.

My maternal grandfather was called George Matthew Greatbach, of Crookes, Sheffield. He was the brother of Brenda's father Richard. I realise that your newspaper is read by a great many residents in Blackpool and I hope that someone reading this may be able to help me trace my family.
