RIBBLE Valley nursery will display an ambitious 'through the ages' garden at this year's Gardeners' World Live exhibition.
Peter Foley and his staff at the Holden Clough Nursery in Bolton-by-Bowland have spent months putting together a garden which covers the Victorian era through to the millennium.
Mr Foley said the exhibit, which will be crafted when the event opens between Sunday and Wednesday, boasts fashionable plants through the ages, as well as a range of garden tools.
In the centre of his garden, which cost about £1,000, there will be a pool, around the edge of which there will be plants and machinery from the Victorian period on. The design traces each decade, with popular plants and styles, to the modern day.
"We have grown plants from ferns, which were popular in Victorian times, through to pots and decking which have become fashionable through programmes such as Groundforce and Gardeners' World," said Mr Foley.
"We want to highlight the changes in fashions and how certain plants have made comebacks. We also have different types of mowers, such as a prototype Flymo."
Gardeners' World Live runs from Wednesday until Sunday at the NEC, Birmingham, and boasts displays from more than 80 gardeners and nurseries.
