HELICOPTERS, jets, and vintage aeroplanes gave a stunning display over Blackburn -- but their pilots kept their feet firmly on the ground!
Model aircraft enthusiasts from all over Britain were at Pleasington playing fields to show their skills at the annual Blackburn and District Model Aircraft Club's show.
Hundreds of spectators watched the free show which included a Red Arrows style display and demonstrations of replica vintage planes.
Aviation expert John Bridge, of Ulverston Avenue, Blackburn, who was injured in the Tiger Moth crash in Whalley last summer, gave the PA commentary.
Kevin Watson, society secretary, said one of the highlights of the weekend was a "James Bond chase" by a display team from model distributors Ripmax.
He said the display featured a radio-controlled lorry which shot rockets at a chasing model helicopter until a car drove out of the lorry to escape the helicopter.
Bystanders also had the chance to fly planes with the help of instructors on dual-controls.
