HEALTH and safety officials have been informed of the death of a 26-year-old man who plunged from a multi-storey car park after leaving a town centre night club.
Mark Turner, of Cuerdale Lane, Walton-le-Dale, was found lying on the ground next to Ainsworth Street car park, Blackburn, which adjoins the Utopia nightclub, at 1.50am on Sunday.
He suffered head injuries and died later at Blackburn Infirmary.
Inspector Stephen Haworth, of Blackburn Police, said the coroner had also been informed.
Andy Henry, spokesman for the Lord Square club, which is owned by First Leisure, said the firm had handed CCTV footage to police.
He said: "The club is helping the police by making CCTV footage available. The club has various security cameras near the fire exits."
He but declined to comment further.
Five years ago, 16-year-old Catherine Brookens, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, plunged to her death from the car park after leaving the nightclub, then called Peppermint Place.
