FURNITURE and electrical goods are needed for Todmorden Flood Appeal.
Committee member Carole Gavaghan has urged people to contact her if they can help out in any way after the freak floods in the town almost two weeks ago damaged many homes.
She said: "We have been going round the people that were not insured and looking to see what they lost and what they actually need.
"We have been getting measurements of floors if they need carpets and we have been advising people in rented houses to ask for replacements from their landlords.
"One old lady of 80 years hadn't taken her wet furniture out because she would have had nothing to sit on. She's the type of person we want to help.
"We will have long list of what we need but we don't have a set amount yet.
"A charity called Watch who takes things out to Bosnia has donated a van and two men for a week for free so that we can pick up damaged furniture and take it away or take new things to people.
"We also need electrical equipment but it has to be brand new for safety reasons."
The group will meet on Friday, at 7pm, at Todmorden Town Hall to discuss how far they have got with the appeal and what still needs to be done.
Anyone who wishes to donate items to the appeal should call Carole on 01706 839551.
