DAVE DOVE ran out of partners and time as Leigh drew with Wigan.
The old enemy batted first and were soon in trouble at 66-6 and then 111-8, medium pacer Graham Duddle causing all sorts of problems to take five crucial wickets.
Graham Bolton steadied the Wigan ship in style, batting on after tea to take his score to an unbeaten 101 and his side's to 226-8 declared.
That 70-over marathon left Leigh with too much to do in too little time.
But they got off to a decent start, the opening batsmen each getting good runs on the board.
Both Andy Batterley and Steve Bailey were out in the 20s, Australian Mike Day made a quickfire 36. Finally, it was left to Dove to battle on. By the close he was unbeaten on 75, but, with the run rate always creeping up, victory was never an option.
With seven wickets down and some 40 runs required, Leigh played out the final two overs for a draw and closed after 45 overs on 210-7.
