SWINTON forward Matt Knowles jets out to a new life in Australia today after receiving an offer he couldn't refuse, writes STEVE BOTT.
Knowles, who works in the building trade, found himself out of work a couple of weeks ago.
Then along came a phone call from Down Under, offering him not only a club to play for out there, but a job as well!
"Work is always up and down here," said 24-year-old Knowles, who is in his second spell with Swinton after stints at Rochdale and Wigan.
"The offer came along and I thought I might as well take it and see how it goes.
"My girlfriend is coming out with me. She has given up her job on the administration side at a car dealers and, hopefully, she will find work out there too."
The club who have offered Matt a playing positon and a job are Wyong, a country club based just outside Sydney.
"They have a big night club and casino complex alongside the ground and that's where I would be working if I decide to take up their offer," added Matt.
The other club to come in for him are Woi Woi, but at the moment, Wyong looks to be Knowles favoured destination.
