JOHN Farrer's remarks on gridlock in Oswaldtwistle and his selection of Labour-run Lancashire County Council as the cause of it (Letters, June 14), caused a wry smile.
Surely, he is not surprised by the design of the facilities for the new bus route. As I recall, the plans were unveiled 10 months ago at a public meeting of the transportation board in the Hyndburn council offices. Consultation followed and the scheme now seems to be complete.
In charge at Hyndburn through this period were the, er, Conservatives, with whom Mr Farrer, I understand, is connected.
