BATTLING Barbara Castle, Labour MP in Blackburn for more than 34 years, was awarded the highest decoration in the Queen's Birthday Honours List.
She was made a Baroness in recognition of her work in politics -- and immediately warned Margaret Thatcher: "I'll be watching you."
She hoped to use her House of Lords seat to scrutinise the Government's policies closely.
