AUSTRALIAN Test ace Jason Gillespie today called on the International Cricket Council to kick those found guilty of matchfixing out of the game for life.
The 25-year-old Rishton pro has admitted it makes his blood boil to hear fellow professionals have accepted money to throw international matches.
And the 6ft 5in pace-bowler is demanding the authorities dish out the maximum penalty on the culprits he considers to be the cancer of cricket.
"I think they're all idiots," blasted Gillespie. "I've had a few injuries in the past and I have to work my butt off everyday to play for my country.
"I bust my hump to do that and to know that there may be opponents who aren't playing to full capacity because they're on the take really naff's me off.
"All of a sudden, all the genuine cricketers around the world are under suspicion.
"And that's so bad for the game. "It needs to be stamped out and, in my opinion, they are being too soft on these guys.
"Five year bans are no use. They should kick them out for good because we don't need them."
Gillespie has been horrified by the scale of the allegations surrounding the current matchfixing scandal.
And he firmly believes those implicated have shown a total disrespect for everyone connected with the sport.
"These people don't have any respect for the game, they don't have any respect for their country and they don't have any respect for themselves.
"So why do they bother at all?" slammed Gillespie.
"They certainly don't have any respect for their fans -- the people who go out and support One-day cricket and Test cricket.
"They are coming to see a contest but, unbeknown to them, it's a total farce."
