VICTORY at Cherry Tree tomorrow won't make amends for Great Harwood missing out on winning the league title last season.
But reaching the semi-finals of the Jennings Ramsbottom Cup will be of some compensation.
The Cliffe Park club would have won last summer's Ribblesdale League championship had they successfuly chased 186 at Cherry Tree in their final game.
Instead they were bowled out for 138 but have bounced back to mount a challenge again and Harwood, at home to Whalley this afternoon, will still be chasing the double if they gain their revenge at Preston Old Road tomorrow.
"It's always a good game when we play Cherry. We won one and lost one last year, although unfortunately we lost the crucial one on the last day of the season.
"I'd rather have won that game but it's always nice to do well in the cup," said skipper Gordon Armstrong, whose side includes with new pro Mark Harvey.
"We are pretty confident at the moment after a couple of good wins.
"The title is the main objective having not won it for 100 years. But quite a few of the team who played in the cup final when we won it in 1995 are still kicking around and knowing what it's like."
In the other two quarter-final ties Baxenden entertain Clitheroe, while league leaders Padiham will be hoping to make amends for their recent league defeat when they go to Read. Earby have been handed a bye into the semi-finals.
