A 40-YEAR-OLD man was attacked and robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight while crossing parkland off Hollin Bridge Street, Blackburn.
Steven Walsh, of Thompson Street, Darwen, was approached by two men who asked him for a cigarette at lunchtime on Saturday. They threw him to the ground and a fight broke out.
The men took his wallet containing £100 after threatening him with a knife. They were then seen getting away in a silver Peugeot 205 driven by another man.
Mr Walsh suffered an eight inch cut to his right arm. He was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary, and was later discharged.
Police said both men are aged 19 to 20, and are 5ft 8 to 5ft 10. One man is white and has blonde hair which is shaved at the sides. He was wearing a black Nike baseball cap back to front, tracksuit bottoms, trainers, and a blue bubble jacket.
The other man is Asian, and he was wearing a waist length jacket, and a baseball cap back to front.
Inspector Steve Ashley of Blackburn police said: "This was a brutal attack which may happen again and it's imperative that we catch these people. We are appealing for any information about the vehicle or the offenders."
