BURY'S Barracks Lodge has been designated a Grade A Site of Biological Importance by the Greater Manchester Ecology Unit.
The declaration, on Friday, was welcomed by objectors to Stately Developments Ltd's plan to create 16 homes on the lodge at the rear of homes in Newington Drive.
However, victory has still not been assured for residents. Bury's planning committee will consider the development of the site on its own merits and in line with Unitary Development Plan policies.
See Friday's BT for the full story.
