MORECAMBE Carnival bosses have met with city council leaders in a bid to resurrect the ailing annual festival.
As The Citizen exclusively revealed a fortnight ago, the near 100 year old event was struggling to continue with its fund-raising events because of new restrictions.
However, members of the carnival committee held a meeting at Morecambe Town Hall on Wednesday with councillors and representatives of the council's tourism and engineering services.
The committee now expects to complete a legal agreement with the council over what concessions will be available at the carnival site and the route the procession will take.
Discussions will also take place over the possibility of moving the carnival to a different venue from next year as well as switching to the original August date.
