ON Saturday (June 17) Preston returned to losing ways as they were soundly beaten in the league by Morecambe at West Cliff by an embarrassing nine wickets.
Preston, put into bat, returned to slipshod methods and wickets fell with ararming regularity. There was a steady procession back to the pav ilion.
Preston looked shaky and collapsed with the loss of a further three wickets with the score on 72. Glen Johnstone and Julian Edwards tried to up the tally and fought bravely for the last few runs.
Morecambe openers Prince and Mark Woodhead cruised to 32 before Namajee struck. Prince then combined well with Gudgeon and hit three sixes on the way to an easy victory.
