WE'VE found him . . . thanks to the wonders of modern technology and the homespun appeal of this old page!
Regular customers may recall that Denis Brown of Gerards Lane, Sutton, in submitting memories of the wartime bombing raids on St Helens, had mentioned that he had not heard from his old pal Joe Rotheram for more than 40 years. They bade farewell when Joe emigrated to Canada
But now, almost with the speed of light, both Joe himself and another old chum, Norman Swain, have responded via the internet.
Joe, living in Cornwall, Ontario, writes: "I have just read the article in Whalley's World. I am the long-lost friend and I have thought many times how wonderful it would be to be in touch with Denis."
Joe's now passed on his phone number (613 933 0148) and e-mail address: argo@cnwl.igs.net
For good measure, Norman Swain (e-mail NSwain@ bun.com) writes to say: "I see Joe in Spain during the winter and he was in St Helens this March and in June, 1998."
HERE'S hoping that a long overdue reunion of the old chums is now in the offing...
