A NEW community centre has notched up its first success story.
The stunning purpose-built centre, in South Meadow Lane, Preston, has been backed by a Millennium Commission Grant.
It has been constructed using imported Indian marble, sculpted by visiting craftsmen from India.
And the first two groups of students have successfully completed courses delivered by bilingual tutors.
The groups -- a ladies course in business skills and an introductory computers programme -- both received their certificates by Ishwer Tailor, ethnic business adviser of Enterprise plc.
Secretary of the Gujarat Hindu Society Dashrathbhai Nayee said: "We are proud to be able to offer enjoyable education in a comfortable learning environment.
"We are grateful to Lancashire County Council for their support and we will continue to work in partnership with training providers to improve the skills base of individuals and enable them to access the job market."
