A VISION for a brighter future is the theme behind a colourful mural unveiled this week by Preston Mayor, councillor Joe Hood.
The decorative work-of-art has been beautifully painted by a disabled people from the Disability Information Service, in Church Street, Preston.
A group of 13 disabled volunteers took part in designing the service's permanent fixture with the help of local artist, Joe Vickers, the team completed the superb masterpiece.
The mural forms part of the Millennium Vision Project, organised by the Global Education Centre, in St Peter's Square, Preston.
It depicts positive images of disabled people including a desert island with a bridge to a mainland isle in order to demonstrate how disabled people are integrated within modern society.
Disability Information Service co-ordinator, Melanie Close, said: "All the volunteers thoroughly enjoyed creating the mural. The positive images it shows will hopefully raise the confidence of the people here and change the attitudes of people who see it."
