STAFF and pupils at English Martyrs Catholic Primary celebrated 2000 years of history with a special Jubilee Day.
The children donned costumes depicting life throughout the ages, from Victorian to the Romans to the Tudors.
Even Florence Nightingale dropped in!
Two special guests were friends Norah Nicholson and Phyllis Jackson, now both 87, who reminisced about their happy schooldays at English Martyrs from 1916-20.
Deputy headteacher Brenda Scales organised the event after appealing for ex-pupils to send in their memories and photographs from their schooldays.
The memorabilia will be displayed in the run-up to celebrations planned for next year -- to mark English Martyrs' 25th anniversary at the Sizer Street site.
School secretary Ann MacDonald said: "We held the Jubilee Day to give people a chance to see the artefacts -- and give the pupils the opportunity to dress up.
"Each class wore the costumes from the period of history they have been studying during term-time."
