THE June meeting of Morecambe Labour Party agreed to strongly oppose any cuts to the home help/home care service provided by Lancashire County Council.
Cllr Elaine Bush proposed that the party secretary write to Cty Cllr Doreen Pollitt, Social Services chairman, arguing that reducing levels of public sector home care means those in need will have to reply more on private profit making home help businesses. These because of their need to make a profit cannot always provide as high a service to clients as properly run county council home help provision.
