THE South Lancs Veterans bowling team is just two games away from the final of the British Parks National (Senior) County Team Championship.
In their debut season the South Lancas side reached the semi-final with a 199-168 away victory over Central Midlands at Whitchurch.
The South Lancs first four opened up with a 3-1 win and a lead of 16. The second four shared the spoils with two wins each with the overall difference reduced to 13.
But the South Lancs final two of Matt Morphet and Bill Carr put an end to any thoughts of defeat by winning 21-12 and 21-14 respectively.
Man of the Match was John Molyneux from Atherton S&S who bowled well and ended with a 2-19 victory.
The local side now meet Fylde in the semi-final with a final place in South Lakes beckoning.
