THE Manchester Association derby game between Culcheth and Glazebury ended in a four-wicket victory for the home side.
Glazebury chose to bat first and hit an impressive 187-6. Simon Green hit an aggressive 52, skipper Gareth Banks an unbeaten 44 and opener John Acton 40.
At first Culcheth did not look like keeping up with the required run rate but a whirlwind 93 not out from Steve Malone swung the game and Culcheth ended on 188-6.
The second team game at Hurst Lane finished in a draw after stubborn defensive batting from Glazebury who lost two wickets in the first two overs to promising youngster Paul Critchley.
Culcheth had earlier hit 197-8 with Chrs Lord hammering 55 and Mark Tolman an unbeaten 45. Skipper Andy Durrington took 5-37.
Durrungton, 39 and John Caine 34 not out, were Glazebury's top scorers as they finished on 117-7.
Glazebury's under 13s side enjoyed a fine victory over Warrington at Walton Lea.
Batting first they hit 92-3 with Andrew Calvert making an unbeaten 39 and David Gibson 23 not out. Dean Standish made 15.
Warrington were restricted to 55-7, giving Glazebury a 37-run win.
