I WOULD like to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Citizen newspaper for publicising the Brookfield Lions local football team.

We collected our LEP Sunday League division four championship trophy and medals, but we also had an added bonus.

While Peter Collier won the division four top goalscorer's award, he also won the coveted top scorer of all the divisions! His tally of sixty goals was ranked fifth in the history of the Sunday League -- a remarkable achievement in the changing face of modern soccer, even at amateur level.

We play in division three next season, and we'll be title-chasing again!
