THIS weekend there is a chance to take a peep into the future when the semi-final and final of the Star's ever-popular Young Stars of Tomorrow competition are staged at Cowley High School Arts Theatre in Gamble Avenue.
The semi-final will be held tomorrow ( Friday, June16) from 7.30pm followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, June 17 when curtain up is at 7pm.
Admission is free, so why not come along and give the town's talented youngsters a cheer?
COMING to the Theatre Royal on Sunday, June 25 is 'Stayin' Alive.' This musical tribute to The Bee Gees gets underway at 7.30pm.
AND on Friday, June 30 it is time to welcome back to the theatre, the King of Comedy himself, Ken Dodd.
OUR very own Johnny Vegas is back at The Citadel tonight (Thursday, June 15) with his Gameshow. Why not pop along and join in the fun which starts at 8pm?
ON Friday June 16 there is a treat for folk fans at the Waterloo Street Venue when The Two Duos Quartet will be appearing at 8.30pm. THIS is followed on Saturday, June 17 by 'What if...?', a participatory show for youngters aged between four and eight staged by the Pop-Up Theatre and starting at 2pm.
PADDY Wack is a fund-raising event for the Willowbrook Hospice which is being held on Monday, June 26 starting 8pm at Eccleston Social Club, Holme Road. This wil be an evening of Irish music, song and dance and further details are available from the Campaign Office on 01744 453798. Entertainment includes St Helens Concert Band with conductor John Parry; dancers from the Nicola King School of Irish Dance; Friends 'n' Family Band, directed by Fred Matthias; Clarinets in Concert; and the Citadel Arts Band. Compere is Vince Wilcox.
NEWTON Amateur Dramatic and Operatic Society (NADOS) are presenting 'Guys and Dolls' at Earlestown Town Hall from Tuesday, June 20 to Saturday, June 24 at 7.30pm.
THE Rainford Gallery in Central Library, Victoria Square is playing host to an exhibition by the Rainford-based Starving Wife Art Company until Thursday, June 29. Further details are available from 01744 883895.
A SUMMER Fair is being held by the St Helens branch of The Parkinsons Desease Society on Thursday, June 22 at Windle Pilkington House, King Street, starting at 7.30pm. There is a host of attractions and admission is free.
