A MAN was attacked and robbed on his way home from a night out on Saturday, June 3.
The victim was passing the main post office in Bridge Street at about midnight, having just left the nearby Nelson Hotel, when he was hit on the back of the head and fell to the floor. He was then punched and kicked by up to four people who stole a wrist watch and cash.
The attackers then ran off towards Church Square Shopping Centre, leaving the victim requiring treatment at St Helens Hospital for a head wound and bruises. He believes there were three or four attackers who were all stocky and aged between 25 and 30. One had short, dark hair.
