A CHARITY golf day in aid of the Cancer Research Campaign is to be held at Grange Park Golf Club on Thursday, September 14.
The event has been organised by Geoff Ingham from Windermere Avenue, Carr Mill, in memory of his dad, Horace, who died from cancer last year.
Geoff, who organised a similar day in Cheshire last year, told the Star: "Last year's event was a big success and we did really well for the charity, especially through St Helens golfers who came along which is why we moved to a more local venue for this year's event. The Cancer Research Campaign is invaluable for people like my dad and I know he would be pleased to see more money raised for them."
The event, which gets underway at 10am, is open to teams of four golfers at a cost of £180 per team (£45 per person) and Geoff is also appealing for donations for a bumper prize raffle to be held on the evening.
Geoff is now looking for teams of four golfers or donations of prizes for a raffle which will be held on the night.
Entry forms are available from the charity on 0161 793 1313 or from Geoff on 07901 873026.
