CLUBBERS across East Lancashire are in for a treat next month when club night Feel stages its first outdoor event at PY2K on Preston's Flag Market.
Created more than six years ago by ex-University of Central Lancashire students Tim Pearson and George Thompson, Feel is the event that has put Preston on the club map, rivalling large cities such as Liverpool and Sheffield for the mantle of the North's number one dance club.
Tim said: "It's a dream come true. We're really looking forward to bringing the sound of Feel to a lot of people who've never heard it before and staging an outdoor event for all those regulars who turn up week in week out. It's going to be massive."
Feel will host the closing ceremony of PY2K on Saturday, July 8 from 8pm to 1am. World-famous DJ Dave Seaman will be headlining the event, flying in especially from Berlin's Love Parade, where he is playing earlier in the day, to get the night rocking. Playing alongside him will be Feel resident DJ George Thompson, who will be followed by Christian West.
Other attractions include a state-of-the-art lightshow, with a funfair, dancers and performers, as well as live performances from Sweet FA, TKO, P-Hex, Dangerous Minds, and The Outbreak DJ Collective. Feel is currently the UK's number one Students' Union-based dance club, a title it has held since 1996. The fortnightly event still sells out weeks in advance, not just on the nights where a big name guest DJ is appearing. Radio One's Judge Jules and Perfecto's Paul Oakenfold have both graced the Feel wheels of steel in the past 12 months.
Although it remains loyal to the University of Central Lancashire Students' Union, Feel has also ventured to Blackburn, Lancaster University and Blackpool and has toured as far afield as superclubs Eden in Ibiza and Exogroove in Venice.
Tickets are £6 each and are available from the Guild Hall Box Office on 01772 258 858.
