ONCE again, we have witnessed the usual violence which follows the staging of England's games abroad.
No amount of pre-planning by the football authorities here, and in other countries, has managed to quell or control the morons whose sole aim is to disrupt and blacken the name of our national game.
Do cameras not give the police the required images of these yobs?
True, many were picked up and deported back to England. But we could well do without them. Why are they not sent to foreign courts and made to serve time there? The time has come to crack down hard on known or suspected rioters. Would it not be possible to confiscate their passports, to be handed back at the courts' discretion?
Tagging them may be a way of tracking their whereabouts as with others in the criminal fraternity.
The powers who run the game say they are only a minority. How many does it take to turn a town into a battlefield, wreck premises or resort to the ultimate crime of murder?
If England wants to stage the World Cup in the future, this is the one big problem that needs solving.
