BRADFORD City have joined FC Copenhagen in the chase for Rovers midfielder Per Frandsen.
The Danish international (pictured) has been told he can leave Ewood Park this summer if the price is right.
And Bradford and new boss Chris Hutchings are believed to be weighing up a bid for the former Bolton Wanderers' schemer, who cost Rovers £1.75 million last September.
Frandsen, an ever-present in the Premiership with Bolton in the 1997/98 campaign, would appear to fit the bill for the Bantams who are looking to improve on the last-day escape they pulled off to stay in the Premiership in May.
Without a bottomless pit of cash to spend, the 30-year-old wouldn't break the bank in terms of a transfer fee, although Rovers boss Graeme Souness insisted that no-one will be allowed to leave Ewood if the deal doesn't suit Rovers. "We have made him available but we decide who stays and goes. It's the same with any player. We have to be happy with the fee," said Souness. Wages could be a stumbling block for Frandsen, however, with FC Copenhagen, managed by former Blackburn boss Roy Hodgson, not thought to be able to come up with the right terms.
And Frandsen's agent insists that the player will be happy to fight for his place back at Rovers if a suitable package doesn't materialise.
There has been interest in the list of five Rovers players told they can find a new club and although there have been no firm offers, out-going transfer activity is expected before the start of the new season.
"We've had no firm bids. We've had lots of enquiries but no firm bids.
"If you look at the whole transfer market it's been quiet, but that will change," Souness added.
Souness is working at improving his squad but former Rovers defender Chris Coleman is not on his shopping list.
The Welsh international is reportedly in contratcual dispute with Fulham but won't find an exit route back to Blackburn, who haven't made a bid for the 30-year-old.
An approach for Wolves midfielder Scott Taylor is also a non-starter with Souness confirming today that he has no interest in the player, who was the subject of enquiries from Rovers, Bolton and Reading according to newspaper reports yesterday.
