DARREN Peacock could be set to join Rovers' First Division rivals Portsmouth on a free transfer.
The 32-year-old defender travelled south yesterday for talks with Pompey boss Tony Pulis.
And, if he can agree personal terms, then the former Newcastle man could become the third player to leave Rovers this summer.
"Darren has been talking to them but as yet we don't know the outcome," said Rovers boss Graeme Souness.
"He was down there yesterday and it just depends on whether or not they can agree personal terms.
"But we should know more later today."
Peacock was one of six players told by Souness he had no long term future at Ewood.
Former boss Roy Hodgson brought him to the club on a free from Newcastle in 1997 and Rovers are not asking for a fee for the player.
