YOUNGSTERS at a Pendle nursery school can look forward to a bright future thanks to the hard work of volunteers.
Young people on a Prince's Trust course have created colourful friezes on the walls a1nd floor of the play area at Haverholt Day Nursery, Colne, while the front garden has been transformed thanks by a group of parents who have brightened up the area with decorated pots and hanging baskets.
Colne county councillor Tim Ormrod visited the nursery on Friday. He said: "A lively and stimulating environment is very important for young children to which this work will certainly contribute."
A plaque was unveiled at the nursery school to mark the work of the Prince's Trust team. They were Craig Allot, Brendan Burton, Caroline Daley, Adam Hargreaves, Neil Heagin, Denice Heath, Jenny Humphreys, Jenni Morton, Jonathan Nugent, Robin Phillpot, Leon Riley, Paul Simpson, Greg Sutcliffe, Reece Tomlinson and Gemma Wilkinson, under team leader Gordon Cassie and his assistant Paul Briscall.
The pots for the garden were donated by LBS, of Trawden, and the plants were bought with a voucher donated by Gordon Rigg Garden Centre, Todmorden.
