IN response to Chris Wrigley's remarks (Letters, July 27) concerning the release of Myra Hindley, would he have a different view, if one of those children tortured and murdered by Hindley and Ian Brady, had been a relative of his?
Those poor children were not only tortured and murdered, but also had their pitiful pleas and screams taped by Hindley and Brady.
With the school holidays well under way, we should be able to let our children play out in peace, but at the back of our minds is the nagging thought of a pervert lurking around the next corner.
To me, the abuse, torture or murder of a child are the worst crimes on this planet. Myra Hindley should stay where she is and, hopefully, if the killer of Sarah Pyne and all the other child killers are caught, they too should never see the outside of a prison cell for the rest of their lives.
M ROBERTS (Mr), Wensley Road, Blackburn.
