FIREFIGHTERS from Darwen were among the fund-raisers who took part in a charity canoe race.
They paddled along the canal from Preston to Lancaster during the annual event which was in aid of the North West Air Ambulance. More than £1,000 was raised.
Blackburn-based paramedic Paul West, who helped organise the event, said: "North West Air Ambulance would like to thank everyone who helped with the race.
"Seven teams took part and an event of this magnitude can never be complete without the help of everyone involved."
Leyland Fire Station were the winners.
Anyone wishing to support the air ambulance can join the Flight For Life lottery draw which boasts a cash prize of £1000 by ringing 01772 711424.
