BURY netball star Louise Crolla returned home empty-handed from the World Youth Netball Championships but her reputation has soared after a string of top-class displays.
Louise, 19, of Pembroke Drive, Bury, was praised by critics for "running" England's centre court during the two week tournament in Cardiff.
Unfortunately her silky skills weren't quite enough as the England U21 team crashed out at the semi-final stage, losing 58-26 to eventual winners Australia.
Before that England had cruised through the group stages, beating Wales 93-15, Sri Lanka 82-25, Scotland 66-15 and Singapore 81-20.
They then beat South Africa 60-28 in the quarter finals before finding the Aussies too hot to handle.
England lost a third-place play-off game against New Zealand 63-47.
A squad member said: "The whole team played really well and Louise was outstanding. She ran the centre court superbly and is one to watch for the future."
Louise is now hoping to be picked for the senior England netball team, alongside fellow Bury girl Tracey Neville.
