I WISH to say a big-thank you to whoever organised the Arts in the Park extravaganza in Blackburn and contributed to the cost.
It was great to see the people of Blackburn with Darwen coming together and taking part in an event which will probably never happen again on this scale.
Regarding the Last Night of the Proms concert, where were Jerusalem, Elgar's Land of Hope and Glory and Rule Britannia -- the music we all associate with The Proms?
A lot of people, including children, had bought Union Flags in the hope, I have no doubt, of ending the concert with these rousing numbers and I know from what people have said that it was a big disappointment.
Otherwise, it was a great and enjoyable event.
R A FOOTE (Mr), East Park Road, Blackburn.
