REGULAR readers of Your Letters will no doubt be aware that I am not exactly a fan of Blackburn with Darwen Council.
However, after spending one of the most pleasurable weekends I can remember, being entertained by the excellent musicians in the Arts In The Parks festival, I feel I have to give credit where it is due and congratulate them for a wonderful show.
Although some of the acts were not my cup of tea, I cannot deny their musical talent and enthusiasm. I also greatly enjoyed the fireworks, as did my grandchildren.
I remarked at the time it was the first time I had enjoyed seeing my council tax going up in smoke.
I hope the same event takes place next year with even bigger names on the bill. Who knows, we might be treated to the likes of Oasis, Daniel O'Donnell or the Three Tenors next July.
