SOAP star Denise Welch found it was right up her street when she was asked to launch a local raffle.
The Coronation Street favourite, who plays Rovers Return licensee Natalie Barnes, toasted the success of the Manchester Jewish Community Care Grand Raffle with a kosher glass of wine when she dropped in to the Nicky Alliance Day Centre on the Prestwich border.
Denise (pictured with Margaret Clarke of Manchester Jewish Community Care and fund-raising executive Sonny Warner), spent almost an hour at the centre chatting to members and a visiting party, who were delighted to meet the popular actress.
The annual raffle, which raised around £11,000 last year, will be drawn at a later date by another popular celebrity.
