LAST year the 2nd Tyldesley Scout Group had a pack with no Cubs.
It was operating with just a Cub Leader, Scout Leader, one Scout, two Venture Scout leaders and two Venture Scouts.
Thanks to an appeal in the JOURNAL the relaunched Chameleon Venture Scout Unit has gone from strength to strength.
The group now has leaders to cover all sections and there are vacancies for every age group.
Assistant Venture Scout Leader, Peter Wardleworth, said: "Any parent interesting in helping with the sections would be welcome too.
"As with many of the leaders they start as helpers and find they also enjoy the activities and continue for several years.
"That's what happened to me 13 years ago!"
The movement now caters for girls as well as boys and they will be welcome in all sections.
Beavers are aged 6-8, Cubs 8-10, Scouts 10 to 15 and Ventures 15 to 20.
The groups meet at Shuttle Street, Tyldesley on Monday evenings as follows: Beavers 6.30 to 7.30pm, Cubs 6.30-8pm, Scouts 7.30-9pm and Ventures 8-10pm.
Subscriptions are £1 a night for all sections.
