I REFER to a letter published in your paper (Citizen: July 13) from a despairing hotelier and I reply as a disgruntled holidaymaker that the letter writer hit the nail on the head.
My first grievance is that my family could not even get a bus to Morecambe from Glasgow (July 1) The bus company informed me that they no longer operate to Morecambe - have you been wiped off the map?
Next is the sorry state of Frontierland and Bubbles. What on earth is the council thinking of - certainly not the hotelier or holidaymaker.
These were major attractions for young and old alike and surely in both cases also attractions for residents. My nine-year-old son was devastated the day we arrived when he saw the remains of Frontierland and discovered that Bubbles was closed.
I know Morecambe very well as I have holidayed there many times and have seen the resort go from bustling to near ghost town. What does 2001 have in store to lure us holiday makers back again - Happy Mount Park is not enough!
