CO-OPERATIVE Insurance Society (CIS) is taking the lead in Business in the Community's project, Manchester Cares.
The company is pledging £40,000 over three years and has seconded Alison Platt to the post of project co-ordinator.
CIS is a regional sponsor of the Manchester Cares initiative and, with Alison in place to drive the project forward, is taking its responsiblity very seriously.
Alison said: "I am very excited to be given the opportunity to play a key part in such a worthwhile project.
"My role will involve encouraging businesses throughout Greater Manchester to sign up to Manchester Cares.
"The ultimate aim is to match time given by their employees with the needs of the community."
