AN EXCITING line up of acts has been announced for Darwen Gala 2000.
The event will take place in Borough Road on Saturday, August 19. For the first time in its 20-year history the fun will continue into the night.
Star attractions include Fizziks Acrobats, Swamp Fire Eaters, a bungee run, hot air balloon rides and a guest spot by radio celebrity Rob Charles from Century 105.
Dreams to return to Darwen Tower will be made a reality by Red Rose Land Rover Club who have offered to take people on off-road rides to the famous landmark during the day. Priority will be given to visitors who would not normally be able to make the journey themselves.
The usual charity and trade stalls will surround the main arena, along with an impressive craft marquee and Campaign For Real Ale beer tent.
A special souvenir brochure has been published and it will be distributed in the town during the next few weeks.
It features a free prize draw giving gala visitors the chance to win a trip in a limousine.
