THERE'S a new team in charge down at one of the oldest established gym sites in town at the former Pace Fitness Centres Ltd. at Boundary Road, St Helens on July 25.
A new company Body FX (St Helens) Ltd., has been set up by Keiron and Leanne Pickavance of the highly-successful Body FX at Cornwall Street, Parr, and Tony Hogan of Park House Properties who are the managers and owners of the building.
Keiron and Leanne will transfer all the equipment from their premises at Cornwall Street and will be managers of the new, improved Body FX fitness studio.
Body FX, established in 1995, has grown from strength to strength with Dance FX and FX Entertainments taking the club's recognition into a new direction. They take part in the British Fit for Life Championships, a competition of all ages with dates in the Isle of Man and Yorkshire, as well as one to be hosted here in St Helens in October by Body FX.
Also FX Entertainments offers artists representation, choreography, staged shows and productions with Granada/Sky/Cable TV/radio shows/pop concerts, Rugby League pre-match entertainment and international shows.
Leanne's former professional career in show business and fitness brings a wealth of experience from West End theatre/TV/world tours/Eurovision/Royal shows/pop videos and show productions. Her qualifications also include Northern, European, and British titles in fitness and she is a qualified and national tutor trainer in many fields of fitness.
Keiron is a former Rugby League player with Saints and has qualifications and a wealth of experience in weights/sports/diet and nutrition. Keiron has more than 20 years experience in business management and is currently a Super League match day presenter with the World Club Championship to his credit.
The centre at Boundary Road will immediately benefit from the influx of the equipment from the existing Body FX and it is the intention of the new management to substantially upgrade the facilities, including the ladies-only gym, and totally reorganise the dance and aerobic sessions (timetables will be published in the St Helens Star or available from Boundary Road).
Keiron and Leanne can be contacted on St Helens 730031.
