IT was interesting to see the signs being erected at Penwortham Hall to deter would-be thieves, and a call being sent out for yet more neighbourhood watches.
A far cry from the days when one could always rely on neighbours for the elderly or distressed.
Perhaps someone of good will could come forward and form a new group, perhaps calling itself Help Thy Neighbour, as distinct from the distasteful image of neighbours watching one another.
We have long had a friendly and helpful police presence doing a professional job in Penwortham.
Good neighbour, name and address supplied.
