PRESTON Council should be congratulated for refusing to support a gay pride festival and for not flying the rainbow flag (Citizen July 20).
This may disgust councillor Fitzgerald, but many residents of South Ribble feel disgusted that their council have voted to fly it, which will surely be remembered when their team for re-election comes around.
What with their flag and agitation for the repeal of Section 28 (the teaching of unnatural acts to children), I share coun Browne's view that we are slipping backwards in our approach to combating such things.
