IN-FORM Barnoldswick professional Mark Temple is hoping his new tactics pay off again to put a spanner in the works for Jennings Ribblesdale League title hopefuls Ribblesdale Wanderers tomorrow.
Temple has taken 11 wickets in the past two games to help Barnoldswick to back-to-back wins.
And the slow left-armer puts his burst of wickets down to a new angle of delivery.
He said: "It's been good. I've hit a bit of a purple patch and hopefully it can continue.
"It's been something pretty simple but unfortunately it's taken this long to sort out.
"I've changed my line of attack and I'm bowling over the wicket rather than round.
"It seems to be making the batsmen think and it's paid off. I've been doing it for the last three games and it's been working."
The South African was able to fine-tune his new approach on tour with Ribblesdale League colleagues Settle last week.
And the trip to play on some hard pitches in Cornwall paid off when he returned to post figures of 6-17 against Edenfield. Tomorrow's trip to Church Meadow may be a different kettle of fish with Wanderers professional Shahid Nawaz fresh from an unbeaten century for the new league leaders.
But it's a challenge Temple is looking forward to.
He said: "They are a very strong side. The secret of their success is their professional and you've got to get him out early. If we do that I think we've got a chance.
"The secret has to be in the fielding positions and putting guys in positions where he hits the ball a lot.
It's a big weekend for Barnoldswick with local rivals Earby visiting Victory Park on Sunday and Mike Scothern's men will take great heart if they are still climbing the league on Sunday night.
Temple added: "We have improved a lot. About three weeks ago we were bottom of the table and now we're sitting mid-way which we are pleased with.
Tomorrow's fixtures: Baxenden v Great Harwood, Blackburn Northern v Whalley, Earby v Settle, Edenfield v Cherry Tree, Padiham v Oswaldtwistle Immanuel, Read v Clitheroe, Ribblesdale Wanderers v Barnoldswick.
