ADJACENT to the No 3 Pub and traffic lights on Newton Drive, Blackpool, they have erected an imbecility.
The erection, a simply supported road sign, comprises two tubular columns clearly capable of carrying a massive load. Presumably structural engineers have not been consulted relative to the lateral forces it will withstand.
The first lateral collision with this structure will result in a fatality.
Naturally, they are considering the pedestrian population of Blackpool when they erected this and similar abortions on the 19 kilometres of pedestrian way provided for the people?
Needless to say the ward is the province of our eminent new leader of the council. Is this significant?
C J Thomas, Elm Avenue, Blackpool.
